ARRIVALS HALL AT CURAÇAO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OPEN

The new Arrivals Hall at Curaçao International Airport was inaugurated Thursday, September 8, 2016. The improved Arrivals Hall is another tremendous milestone within the Airport Expansion Project.

Moye Consulting participated with Corgan’s Dallas office to modernize and expand the terminal. Critical systems include PDS, wireless networks; Multi-User Flight Information Displays (MUFIDS), including Flight/Baggage/Gate Information Display Systems (FIDS/BIDS/GIDS); CATV; Common Use Self Service (CUSS) kiosks; UHF/VHF radio; and security, including automated access control system (AACS), monitoring, and video surveillance. Material properties were evaluated to off-set potential corrosion due to the open architecture of the airport and its tropical location. Plastic was selected over metal to reduce corrosion in the tropical climate.

Construction was completed in phases as necessary to allow the terminal to remain operational during construction and to prevent any system outages in these terminal building. Our services included programming, site feasibility study, existing conditions field survey and documentation; stakeholder interviews; risk analysis and phasing; cost estimates; BIM/Revit design and coordination; and systems design. Special attention was paid to system hardware,

Whit King, RCDD, was the project manager supported by Gene Hodson, AAIA, for technology design and Troy Frain, CTS, PSP, for security and special systems. Other design team members included Nathan Benham, George Marquez, and Andrew Lee.
