Intermediate Electrical Engineer – Dallas/Fort Worth

Dallas/Fort Worth area engineering firm providing innovative technology and special systems design and consulting services seeks a bright, capable individual to join our growing team.

We have a current opportunity for an intermediate level electrical engineer in our Irving, Texas office. You will be a part of a team of professionals pursuing and working on projects across the US. This position will allow you to grow in your career as a part of a team of talented designers with diverse expertise in IT, security, audio visual and fire and life safety systems.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Performs analysis, design and documentation of building power distribution, communications infrastructure, security, a/v and fire alarm systems. Training is available for gaps in knowledge.

  • Conducts and documents site survey for existing conditions.

  • Coordinates the work with in-house designers and peer consultants.

  • Prepares design deliverable documents.

  • Participates in QA reviews.

  • Represents the company project team in stakeholder meetings.

  • Tracks and responds to contractor RFI’s and submittals.

  • Conducts and documents punchlist walkthroughs.

  • Participate in the development of project marketing content.

An ideal candidate:

  • Has experience on aviation or healthcare industry or large scale (500,000sf+) projects.

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Is organized, thorough and responsible.

  • Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

  • Has the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and simply to non-technical people.

  • Has the ability to solve problems and work independently.

  • Has project management training or experience.

  • Is available for travel.

  • Is able to share knowledge with others and seeks out knowledge that can be gained from others.

  • Has technical writing, public speaking, project management or contract management experience.

Prerequisites:

  • Is a licensed professional engineer with a BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

  • Has a minimum 3 years experience in A/E electrical and/or low voltage systems engineering design.

  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).

  • Is capable of successfully completing federal background check for security clearance.

This is a direct hire opportunity for permanent employment. All positions are hourly; this position is estimated at 40+ hours/week and has potential for paid overtime and bonuses. Target hourly rate range is $20-40 depending on credentials and experience. Relocation assistance is available.
