Brownsville/South Padre International Airport New Passenger Terminal—Brownsville, TX

Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport is developing a new international passenger terminal. The 90,000-SF terminal will accommodate both commercial and general aviation international
arrivals. Two of the terminal’s four gates will be equipped for international departures and arrivals.

The new terminal will be located directly in front of the existing terminal which will be demolished. Phasing will be required to maintain existing operations during construction of the new facility. Temporary corridors (passenger and sterile) between the old and new terminal buildings will be used until the new terminal is complete.

Moye Consulting is providing design services for the technology systems including a new Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility and expanded security checkpoint. The security checkpoint will receive automated screening lanes which include larger property bins, belts that return bins to the queue after bag screening is complete, and belts that divert bins containing potential threats so that cleared bins are allowed to continue through the system.
