Brownsville/South Padre International Airport New Passenger Terminal—Brownsville, TX
The new 90,000-SF international passenger terminal at Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport accommodates both commercial and general aviation international arrivals. Two of the terminal’s four gates are equipped for international departures and arrivals.
The new terminal is located directly in front of the existing terminal which was demolished. Phasing was required to maintain existing operations during construction of the new facility. Temporary corridors (passenger and sterile) between the old and new terminal buildings were used until the new terminal was completed. Moye Consulting provided design and construction support services for the technology systems including the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility and expanded security checkpoint.
