BIM Technician

Dallas/Fort Worth area engineering firm providing innovative technology and special systems design and consulting services seeks BIM Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Setup and use BIM 3D model to layout network infrastructure, security, audio/visual, fire, and life safety systems.

  • Participate in staff meetings and team coordination meetings.

  • Perform complex drafting and design assignments requiring application of standardized techniques and industry    standards.

  • Apply redline corrections and develop content from consultant sketches.

  • Model camera views and, clash detection and other in-model design activities.

  • Perform cross-discipline and inter-office coordination.

  • Develop new Revit objects and families in accordance with firm standards.

  • Perform other project technical and administrative duties such as: project site documentation and inspection and    participate in and document project meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 45% Revit Drafting.

  • 15% AutoCAD Drafting and Design.

  • 15% Travel and Project Site Activities.

  • 25% Technical and Project Administration.

 

An ideal candidate:

  • Experience in the installation and as-built documenting of telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Experience with large-scale (250,000 sf or greater) facilities projects.

  • Basic skills in cloud-based collaboration applications such as Microsoft Teams.

  • Intermediate skills in cloud-base construction applications such as PlanGrid.

  • Expert level knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word for formatting specifications.

  • Ability to manage up and down as necessary to coordinate design with clients and other                        professional staff both internally and externally.

  • Articulate, with sound judgment, strong collaboration and teamwork skills, and a                                      proven ability to manage concurrent tasks.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with electrical, telecom, or fire & life safety drafting and design Autodesk Revit.

  • 2+ years of experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.

  • Knowledge and experience of Architectural/Engineering design processes and deliverable documents.

  • Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to gather, organize and interpret                data for process monitoring or business case development.

  • Ability to multi-task and remain efficient and organized while responsible for multiple projects.

  • Professional oral and written communication skills.

This is a direct hire opportunity for permanent employment. All positions are hourly; this position is estimated at 40+ hours/week and has potential for paid overtime and bonuses.
